This morning I got up about 6 a.m. to meet Terry Doss at the church. He took me to a Christian school called Christian High, which is part of the Living Word. There I spoke to two classes of young Christian men about the pitfalls of life, who the enemy is and to be on guard for his attacks. I gave a short testimony and urged all of them to make a mission trip to a 3rd world country. I always enjoy speaking to young people with the hope that they will take to heart what this old man has to say. The first class was at 8 a.m. and I finished up by 10. Terry took me back to the church where we met at 10:30 for a time for the missionaries to get to know each other. This was a great time listening to the events that had happened in each others lives, how God had done miracle after miracle. We not only told of what God has been doing in our lives and the ministries but we requested prayer for our families as we all needed. For me it was a humbling experience to be in the presence of some that had already given 25 to 30 years of their lives and were not through. What an inspiration they were for me!
After lunch I returned to Karl and Angie Leiber’s house and worked on the information to send back to Trish for the website and had a short time of rest where I returned phone calls that I had not had time to do.
Around 6 p.m. I returned to the church for the Missions Banquet and as usual, we had plenty of food that was delicious. After our meal, we heard an inspiring Praise Band and then Dr. David Shepard spoke to us about a vision that he had for a church in Croix de Banquet, Haiti. First Baptist Church of St. Charles, Global Compassion Ministries and TEM are coming together to hopefully build a church where Pastor Harry is in Haiti. We are looking at June of 09, if it is God’s will. As I have said so many times, I know the Lord loves it when we all work together for HIS glory.
