We spent the last week and a half with Meme at the nursing facility. For you see, it was her last days here on earth and we wanted to say goodbye. Meme had lived a long good life and walked with the Lord. She was a good person and a hard worker right unto the end. She loved her grandchildren more than life itself. There was not anything that she wouldn’t do for them.
Over the last couple of years, dementia took Meme away from us. Little by little, she remembered less about us and more about her beginnings. We would laugh and giggle about some of the stuff that came out of Meme’s mouth. But in reality, it was all that we had. You know, the crumbs from the scrumptious cake of a lady that she once was. And Meme did love a good piece of cake. Now she can celebrate her life with the Lord with an extra big slice.
The apostle John reminds of the love of Christ.:
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1
Blessing upon Blessing! God the Father loves us so much that he places people like Meme here on earth to love on us. And to remind us of his goodness. As a loving Father who dotes on His children with love and adoration. He loves me-Yes he loves us!
“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” Psalm 34:8
Once you have tasted His goodness how could you ever desire anything else. Look around Brothers and Sisters and see just how blessed you are. The Father has lavished his love upon you. He has prepared a great feast to honor your home coming. He loves us so much! Won’t you join him at the table?
