“And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”

39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Mark 4:37-40

When I was a child, sometimes my Grandma would keep us. One Summer afternoon, a terrific storm came upon us. The lightning and thunder was cracking, the house was shaking in the wind. My Grandma who walked with the Lord daily, brought me and my sisters into the living room. She closed the curtains and made us quietly sit until the storm had passed. It was just recently that I realized as an adult what she was doing. She would close the curtains so that she wouldn’t focus on her fears. She keep us quiet so that she could pray her way through the storm. Her Faith was strong but was tested during these scary times.

Our Faith is going to be tested and refined, also. And no matter how far we walk with the Lord, there are going to be times that we are going to be pushed to our limits. It’s OK to be afraid. But don’t let your fear lead you. Put blinders on or turn away from what scares you and Focus on the One who can deliver you. Jesus.

Remember, what ever you are going through today, it’s going to be OK!

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
