We made it to Polo!

What a beautiful and curious land this is in Polo. Prissy and I began our journey yesterday at 2:30 a.m. We made our way to the Airport picking up John and Robin. It was an usually quiet trip in the car if you know Brother John.(he has a gift for words). The Airport was unusually crowded with international travelers. It didn’t take long to get through the lines, I am not sure if any of us were really awake. We met Pastor Darren and his wife in the terminal as we waited for our flight to arrive.

Going through Miami and then to Santiago we finally made it to the Dominican Republic. The City was a mix of modern and third world. Three million hustling and bustling people greeted us as we traveled out to the country side of Polo. It was about a 4.5 hour journey west of Santiago through the traffic and mountains. By the time we picked up groceries and ate a very late lunch it was a dark trek up the mountain side to Polo. We finally made it to our rented Villa around 9:30 p.m. where we were greeted by some wonderful ladies who had prepared us a wonderful meal of chicken with beans and rice.

After a good night sleep, John and I walked down to the village taking in the sights and the sounds of the Village waking up. We saw people heading to work on their motorcycles and children walking to school with their Grandmothers. The people were all friendly and smiled when John and I tried our southern of Spanish Hello.

On the walk back, John and I talked about the ministry opportunities and how we were excited to meet the Pastor from the Church and the towns people. We both agreed that we needed to observe and listen to the needs of the people. Can’t wait what doors the Lord opens Today!

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
