I can well remember the first time that I encountered the Holy Spirit on a corporate level. It was at a World Changers worship service with 450 kids and adults. The Service had just ended and the band and the speaker had left the stage. However, the people stood in awe. Quietly they began singing and praying. Men, women and teenagers were falling to their knees. My wife and myself began to cry as we sang songs of worship. This went on late into the night. Something I will never forget. We all have our mountain top experiences. We all go through peaks and valleys in our Christian lives. When we are in the Valley, we seek the mountain top where everything is pure and clean. And oh the sunrises and sunsets are awe inspiring. God gives us those experiences to help us stay calm in the valleys and to remember what can be. When we are on the mountain top, we don’t want to leave the safety of the Father’s loving arms. Can’t we just stay a little longer? Jesus along with Peter, James and John went up on the mountain one day. And there they had a most miraculous encounter with Moses and Elijah. It was their mountain top experience. Peter told Jesus this:
4“Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” Matthew 17:4
Peter wanted to stay but Jesus knew of greater things that had to be accomplished. So that they had to come down off the mountain. I am praying that you will encounter the Holy Spirit. Something that you will never forget. I am praying that you will find your passion to go and share the good news that Jesus has come and is coming again to save this World. Lord bring us back to the mountain top where we first met your son Jesus. Give us the fire and passion, so that we can go into the world and shout the name of Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit fall upon and lift us up. Oh Come Holy Spirit, please come. We ask these things in the Name of Jesus!
Amen
