The Sounds of the City resonated
The smells of the vendors reminded me of days gone-by
Was this the Day that we had longed for?
Was this the Beginning to the End?

People were gathering
Some were gawking and whispering
Others smiling and cheering
Had He finally arrived

Was he a King
Or maybe a warrior
Come to set us free
Come to deliver us to our Promised Land

The crowd cried out
The People were moving
The Palms were laid
Hosanna! Hosanna in the Highest!

“9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.” Matthew 21:9

The Parade of Parades
Fit for a King
Only He was dressed like a lowly servant
And rode an animal from the fields
Had He come to Rule
Or had He come to Serve

Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest
This is Jesus of Nazareth of Galilee
He is Christ our Savior
Descendant of David
The only Son of the One True God

Days later
It wasn’t long before the same crowd that shouted Hosana
Began crying out “Crucify, Crucify Him”
What had he done
Who had he harmed

“22 Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said, “Let him be crucified!” 23 And he said, “Why? What evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more, “Let him be crucified!” Matthew 27:22-23

Jesus came to seek and save the Lost
He died so that we could live
Today, will you accept Him as your Lord and Savior?
Or will you follow the crowd and deny him also?

If We Had Only Known
Even Though
