The report below is from Thursday, July 14. We had some heavy rain last night and our internet was out. This morning we had a flat tire on the van that I had hired to take the team to the airport, but, thanks to faithful Gabriel, our military truck, we got there about 5:30 a.m. They will leave at 7:30 a.m. and arrive home this afternoon, God willing. This was the first time Eastside Baptist Church of Marianna FL has made a trip to Haiti, and they fit right in. I don’t know who loved each other the most; the Americans loving on the Haitians or the Haitians loving on the Americans. I know that the Americans will never be the same. Thank you so very much for all your prayers. Bro. Chuck

Bon swa (good afternoon)! Yesterday our team held VBS for the local village children. We shared the story of Daniel in the lion’s den, and had the children make paper puppets of Daniel and the lion. The children loved it; our team has had so much fun teaching them the gospel stories and playing games. In the afternoon we visited the local orphanage to conduct VBS. What a blessing it was to hear the pastor, his wife and children sing for us – such beautiful people. They sang the song, “Thank you Lord for your blessings on me.” How fitting to be thankful for shoes on our feet, good food on our table and, most of all, thankful to the Lord for his blessings on us as we have been touched by these humble people. In the evening we attended church service at Jerusalem IV, and were once again blessed by the music, the message and the love there – the heavy rain did not stop them from coming and praising the Lord. Brother Bill Wester provided a wonderful message which truly touched us all. Our team worked diligently in preparing new benches for Jerusalem IV and delivered them prior to last night’s service, we also repaired tables that the children of the village needed. I leave you with this verse from Daniel 12:13: “But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of these days.” These are our last hours here and although we all miss home, part of us will forever be imprinted here. Love from us all.
