PLEASE READ!!
In the last 15 years TEM has never had anything stolen from our facility in Z’Orange, Haiti, but there is a first for everything . . . This week a group of men who broke out of jail and are going through the countryside stealing, broke into our storage room and took the food that we have stored there to feed the children. The people in Z’Orange are outraged that someone would steal from us and are trying to find out who the thieves are. I want you to understand – they did not steal the food because they are hungry, they stole it to sell it. These were not people from the valley. Hopefully, they will be caught soon.
School starts on September 1, and now we have no food. Not only did the thieves take the food, they also took the 3 big pots used to cook the food, all 200 of the children’s plates, the spoons they eat with, and the 3 large cooking spoons. We will be able to get more food from Love A Child the 2nd week of September, so we need enough food to last until then. We will also need to buy a steel door and construct a drop ceiling in our storage room where we store the food, to protect it in the future.

1 bag of beans $ 50
1 case of cooking oil $ 53 – or $8.88 per gallon
250 aluminum plates $312.50 – or $1.25 each
