By this time, all the team members have returned to the States and are enjoying the comforts of home. (I know one of those comforts is a hot shower!) Words can’t even begin to express what a great team this was – the members truly have servants’ hearts. The last count of patients the team saw was around 1350, but this does not include the five or more children who were with some of them, so the total was more likely around 1500 in 4-1/2 days. Not only did the team treat the patients, they prayed with them, gave them photos of themselves and their families with John 3:16 written in Creole on the back, and they gave them clothes – not used clothes, new clothes.  The Haitian people will not soon forget the love showed them by these team members. The Haitians cannot repay them, but our Lord will in an abundance.

“. . . inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”  Matthew 25:40

In The Barbarian Way, Erwin McManus writes:

“Jesus leads us into the heart of the dark kingdom . . . He takes us where mankind has chosen to live. He calls us to where the darkness has made those who wander there desperate for light. He leads us as warriors of light to risk our lives for the deliverance of others.”

It was my honor to serve with these warriors who were not afraid to go into the darkness.
